A pre-workout meal should contain protein and carbohydrates. This is because your body needs all the energy available, and also, your muscles need to generate enough power to carry you through the workouts. You have to eat at least an hour or two before your workout. This is to give your body time to digest and channel the food to the part of the body where it is most needed.

A lot of people prefer taking supplements to meals prior to workouts. These supplements are mostly a mixture of blended fruits. Meanwhile, there are those who prefer proteinous supplements that contain creatine. Creatine is also produced by the body with the aid of the proteinous food we eat.
Creatine helps us in an intense workout, but it is short-lived.
